Paula Patton is an actress and producer who is best known for her starring roles in the action spy movie Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and the romantic film Precious. The majority of her childhood was spent in Los Angeles where she came from a middle class family. Her mother loved films, and she instilled a love of films into her daughter. Paula participated in co-curricular activities at school, and was a drama enthusiast. Paula was a fantastic actor and loved performing with her peers. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School gave her many opportunities to be an actor in high school and she picked acting as a career. She was enrolled at the University of Southern California in an intensive summer course and was awed by her experience. The program awarded her a 3-month contract producing documentaries on behalf of PBS. After completing the task, she began being a production assistant for TV documentaries. Her next step was to begin producing documentaries. While she enjoyed working in the field, she yearned to be an actress. She started her career in acting by playing Will Smith's co-star for the romance comedy Hitch. Since then she has appeared in numerous film and television series.
